Veteran cornerback Vontae Davis has been cleared after undergoing core injury surgery and is expected to draw interest from teams ahead of free agency, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Davis began the 2017 campaign with the Indianapolis Colts, but appeared in only five games due to a lingering groin injury. As a result, Davis underwent surgery on November 8 and was released by the Colts only one day later. In the time he did play this past season, Davis registered 21 total tackles and two pass defenses.

The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Illinois, was originally selected by the Miami Dolphins in the first round (25th pick overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.
